Just how many journalists HAS Israel killed in Gaza?
Did they even look at who produced this videoclip? Those who take this at face value?
This videoclip gets boring after the first 40 seconds or so, so you can either just skip along to the end to see who made it or read what I write below the post.

It is produced by IRIMFA — that is short form for Islamic Republic of Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For most people, I would hope that would be enough to disqualify it as something they would want to share (so far, about a week after it was uploaded, 2000 shared it from the Sprinter account). That’s not a huge amount for someone with a large following. The account, Sprinter99800, is labelled as providing “global events in short posts” and has over 500K followers. Among the followers are: Adam Milstein, Max Blumenthal, Seth Franzman, and AIPAC. I assume the pro-Israeli followers are, like me, following some Jew-haters to keep up with what they are on about.
IRIMFA, itself, uploaded the video to their “X” account on 25 December and from there, it was shared a mere 36 times.
Comments under both the original post and the Sprinter repost were mixed, about half anti-Israel but not horrifically viciously so, as we have seen so many times online. About half were calling out the video as being fake (one person said some of the journalists were killed in Lebanon and not Gaza) or saying things like: suprising to find that going into a war zone is dangerous or one can be both a journalist and a Hamas terrorist at the same time.
The claim of 100 journalists killed in Gaza is either based on an Al Jazeera report from 23 December: Gaza media office says 100 journalists killed since Israeli attacks began or relying on the same source as them, i.e., the Gaza media office, which is as likely to inflate their data as the Gaza Health Ministry.
This claim of 100 dead journalists is interesing, in view of the fact that, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) website, 77 journalists were killed between 7 Oct and 4 January, 12 days after the Al-Jazeera article was published; and as of 23 December, the day the Al Jazeera report came out, the number of deaths stood at 69. While I will examine the CPJ claims in another article, I would be more likely to believe their stats than those of Al Jazeera. Other people — such as the Jewish anti-Israeli academic (Zachary Foster) whose work I critiqued here and here — seem to believe Al Jazeera unquestioningly.
But I doubt they really read the article: the figure 100 journalists killed comes from the Gaza Media Office and the article says that Gazan officials suggest the number could be even higher. Then in the next line, they admit that CPJ claims only 69 journalist deaths as of the time of writing. Foster, did you not think to mention this discrepancy when posting the link to the article in your tweet that you lovingly dedicated to the Gazan journalists and in which you called Gaza “the most deadly place on Earth?” Referring to Gaza as such, you are ignoring the massive numbers of Moslems murdered by their fellow Moslems in the Moslem world. And if Foster did not mention the discrepancy, perhaps only read the title, then I expect nothing else from most of the Jew hating public.
Another site, MADA, listed 54 journalist killed by Israel since Oct 7th: 31 in October and 23 in November; December figures are not yet available. MADA is the Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedom.
Even less up-to-date is the International Press Institute, which claims “at least 50” journalist deaths up to 21 November, in line with the MADA claim.
Those who critically follow the news, understand that information coming out of any Gazan (i.e., Hamas) source is unreliable, to say the least. But those who seek to vilify Israel can just choose among the various reports to find the one that provides the “best” data to support their anti-Israel bias. Others who want to know the truth, have to do a bit of research to see if they can even figure out what the truth is.
This is the first of a series of articles I will write on the lie that Israel deliberately targets journalists in Gaza.
