Hamas in Toronto. What’s next?
I bring you a video of a demonstration in Toronto that tops everything I have seen until now. It took place on Saturday, May 25th somewhere in the University of Toronto vicinity.
The video popped up in my “X” feed. It was posted by Leviathan, an “X” account whose owner follows radical and antisemitic activities in Canada. I contacted Leviathan and add some details he communicated with me.
It shows a brief break in a march organized by a new group, GTA4Palestine. This was a relatively small demonstration, with only a few hundred participants, but the organization likely will be able to inspire many more Jew haters to join in with them in the future.
They took a short break from marching, in which they played over a loudspeaker a pre-recorded speech by Hamas spokesperson Abu Obaida. It represents taking the radicalizing activities out of the mosques and onto the streets.
The video has English subtitles. I think it is most bone-chilling if you listen to the Arabic as you read the subtitles; however, if the text is too small, I have copied it below the clip for you to read.
The “X” account TNN provided the transcript (I added paragraph breaks to make it more legible):
In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful. Fight them, may God punish them at your hands, motivate them, give them victory over them, and heal the hearts of a believing people. O sons of our great people. O our heroic mujahideen [Moslems engaged in jihad]. Oh our nation and oh free people of the world. May the peace, blessings, and mercy of God be upon you.
The (INAUDIBLE, VIDEO CUTS).. government has continued to fail and is looking for a system to market that its massacres and military pressure against our people will create a victory or achievement for it, and the great heroic mujahideen continue to teach the occupation lessons in all aspects of the fight, relying on God, clinging to His steadfast love, and defending their land against a cruel, barbaric, mean enemy. It was the last chapter of Zionist failure and confusion.
The horrific crimes that the enemy forces committed and are still doing in Jabalia, Rafah, and other parts of our beloved land. The occupation forces scramble among the piles of rubble in search of the remains of some of their hostages whom they previously deliberately bombed, and throw thousands of soldiers between the alleys in Jabalia and elsewhere, searching for bodies, that might sacrifice their soldiers for the sake of Netanyahu’s personal and private machinations and the interests of his extremist fascist government. The enemy army then markets the exhumation as a military and moral achievement.
Despite the war of annihilation and indiscriminate destruction, our mujahideen were and still are on the lookout for the enemy forces and carried out dozens of operations against his forces over the course of more than two weeks in Jabalia, Rafah, Beit Hanoun and in all areas of aggression and incursion. The last of these operations was a complex operation carried out by Mujahideen this Saturday afternoon in the northern Gaza Strip, where he was martyred. In the Jabalia camp, they were ambushed inside this tunnel and at its entrance, so they were able, thanks to God and His strength, to engage the members of this force from a distance of zero. Then the Mujahideen attacked with explosive devices the support force that rushed to the place and hit it directly. Then the Mujahideen withdrew after blowing up the tunnel used. In this operation, they killed, wounded, and captured all members of this force, and seized its military equipment. [this is a lie]
Every day that the enemy spends its aggression against our people and our people will carry a heavy and heavy price, and we will continue to make the enemy pay this price, with God’s permission and help. We continue to confront the aggression in every street, neighborhood, city and camp in our sector from Beit Hanoun to Rafah. We will reveal new details of these operations at the appropriate time, God Almighty willing.
Salutes to the souls of the righteous martyrs, the wounded, and the proud prisoners, and salutes to the heroic mujahideen in every front and to our great, generous people everywhere. It is a jihad of victory or martyrdom. Peace, mercy and blessings of God. God is great, God is great.

Leviathan writes in the post accompanying the video:
This is equivalent to playing a speech from Hitler 1939 in downtown Toronto by the Nazi party, glorifying his fight against the tyrant Jews of Europe and what progress he was making.
and:
Although Hamas is a designated terrorist group, it didn’t seem to be good enough for TorontoPolice to stop this speech from being played.
or for charges to be brought against the promotion of terrorist propaganda.
According to Leviathan, “GTA4Palestine is a new group, made up of a few people, young guys + 1 old guy, Naved Bahadur.”

Turning to the Internet, I discovered that Naved Bahadur (aka Naveed Ali) is a social worker (OMG).
An 18 Oct 2023 article in Yahoo News Canada, describes, complete with videos, an “attack” by middle-aged Howard Cooper, dressed in an IDF t-shirt under a green army-type shirt, who removed the Palestinian flag from Bahadur’s car and put a handwritten note on the windshield reading: “Fuck you. I pray that Israel crushes Hamas, the Arabs and the Palestinians.” The car was parked in Bahadur’s parking spot by his home. An altercation ensued and the police ended up charging Cooper with assault with a weapon and mischief (he had a key in his hand that Bahadur claims he thought was a knife and that is why he pinned Cooper down on the ground and waited for the police to arrive).
In that article, Bahadur argues that the flag is not a pro-Hamas flag, but it is merely showing support for the Palestinian people, identification with their suffering, and resistance against the occupation. “All we want is freedom for the Palestinians,” he says in one of the videos in the article. (Bahadur did not mention that he considers the occupation to include all of what is now the State of Israel and the logical consequence that that entails.)
Canary Mission reports that:
Bahadur is an organizer with the anti-Israel group Palesign, which was registered as a non-profit organization in November 2023. Palesign has promoted anti-Semitism and held anti-Israel protests outside synagogues in the wake of the October 7, 2023 attacks.
The Palesign website is not working, but it is true that they are a registered nonprofit with the Canadian government. Their listing is here. Canadians might want to contest this and try to get the government to de-register it.

As of March 2024, Bahadur was also an organizer with the anti-Israel group Toronto4Palestine, which he co-founded in May 2021 and has been active in the greater metropolitan area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Toronto4Palestine was formerly called the Greater Toronto Area Palestine Movement (GTA Palestine Movement).
In 2023, Bahadur was an activist with the anti-Israel group Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM).
And to close off this article, I show a video Leviathan posted that demonstrates the total loss of authority of Toronto Police. I remember the time when people would say, “Yes, officer” or “No, officer” or “Of course, officer.”
I hate to say it, but the cop at the end of this clip looks like a total wimp. In shorts? Really? And look at his face. That is not the face of someone who is even pretending to have authority.
What is next, Toronto?
