Former Terrorist: No such thing as “security cooperation”
With talk in Israel about extending our sovereignty over Area C and the Jordan Valley, Abbas has been threatening to cancel security cooperation between the PA security forces and the IDF. Should Israel be worried?
Matan Peleg, CEO of Im Tirzu, interviews Mohammad Massad, representative of the Palestinian Workers’ Organization that seeks to free the Palestinian Arabs from the grips of the corrupt Palestinian Authority leadership. Peleg explores what it might mean to Israel were the PA to cancel the security cooperation.
I translated the interview into English and put it beneath the video.
Massad:
… that the Authority [Palestinian Authority] protects them and that is a lie. They talk about security cooperation … and that is the biggest lie. The term “security cooperation” is the biggest lie. The decisionmakers in the State of Israel think that because they understand a few words in Arabic that they understand all the Arabs.
You won’t understand the Arabs, State of Israel. The Arabs in general — you, leaders in Israel, you won’t understand them.
With us, the situation does not exist where you come like [what is supposed to happen] under security cooperation where you come to your neighbour and tell him that your son broke his glass [window? windshield?]: “My son broke your glass.”
Since when do I, an Arab, see myself as that small? If my son does something to our neighbour, I first of all punish him, according to what he did, and discipline him, and after that I go and apologize to the neighbour. I don’t go and call to the neighbour and say that I am a weak Arab, I am a little Arab, come and discipline my son; I don’t know how to discipline him.
Friend, you say “security cooperation”. Why “security cooperation”? Why? The PA … give me one death sentence that was handed down to a terrorist who killed people, regardless of who he killed, Jew or Arab. It has never happened and it will not happen. Why not? Because they support the terrorists.
Peleg:
Because they do not fight terrorism.
Massad:
They support terror! They want the terrorism. Because this terror …
Peleg:
Abu Mazen threatens to cancel the security cooperation and you say this is nonsence. That it is a charade.
Massad:
He plays it very well. And he is pampered. Israel indulges him too much, lets him be coddled, overindulges the leaders of the PA at their expense.
[Looking straight into the camera:] Enough, Israel! Enough, decisionmakers in Israel! There is an entire people who do not want those miscreants and terrorists. There is an entire people who want to live in security and in peace together and who will fight, we will, as Palestinians, we will fight the miscreants and we will fight the terrorists.
[Turning back to face Matan:] Alone, without the help of even the Israelis. I know how to discipline my son.

In fact, Abu Mazen (Abbas) used the weekend uprising against the PA leadership as fodder for his propaganda, saying that this was a result of the cancelation of security cooperation and warned that worse was yet to come.
