My answer to your question would be “yes, it is enough to reject…” If not so tragic it would be funny because he has constructed a new history that gives him an advantage in providing a “solution.” Where is his Nobel? This is also good in Academia where you need to have controversy so you can teach your perspective — good income generator., lots of invites. Good call!

I literally read that last night after also enjoying the first chapter. I blinked and then graciously assumed he was recounting some form of post-modern Palestinian ‘origins’ belief. I’ll see how the second chapter plays out.

It’s now November 2024 and I’m up to page 625 of this tome – 1984. Tessler is indisputably pro PLO. There has not been a single mention of a terrorist atrocity carried out by the group. Instead the PLO are cast as a moderate politically orientated group seeking to negotiate away the affront of 1948 and 1967. The militant arm is minimised as an outlier to this main thrust. Israel does nothing good. Tessler is adroit in his use of language and in the structure of his arguments. But his bias is glaringly obvious. I’ve only slowly persevered because it’s a useful detailed narrative and I find his attempt to shield his bias intellectually … intriguing. But best avoided.
